NOD Units

While you're looking at these units, keep in mind that these aren't the only units in the game. As Westwood builds and tests, other units will be added and tweaked. Also, there are several other units that players won't own but can use during certain parts of the game. In all, each side (GDI and NOD) will have between 15 to 25 units.

INFANTRY

Cyborg
This unit is part human, part machine, seven feet tall, and four feet wide. It's armed with a Vulcan Cannon and flamethrower which are built for heavy combat against infantry. 2 Good things: it will heal if standing in a Tiberium field and it cannot be run over.

Rocker Soldier
The Rocket Soldier is a rather versatile unit. It carries a rocket launcher (duh). This unit is able to fire at both land and aerial units but is very slow. The Rocket Soldier is mainly geared towards armored vehicles and buildings. He does not fair well against other infantry. Expect a price tag of $300

Chemelion Spy
This unit is virtually invisible thanks to a smaller version of the Stealth Tank's Lazarus Shield. It is only slightly visible when moving. When you infiltrate a building with the Spy, he randomly copies plans for units, structures, and other secret information from the enemy's base. Beware of GDI's MSV though, for that is the only unit capable of seeing the Chemelion.

Field Mechanic
This unit is used for repairing damaged vehicles on the battlefront. Since NOD does not have a Repair Depot (or service Depot...), and you would like to be able to repair units, I suggest you have one of these little babies on hand. Keep this unit closely guarded because it does not have a weapon (well, maybe a wrench... lol). Expect a high price tag.

Engineer
The engineers are back to normal, the way they were in the original C&C, they take over buildings no matter what the health, they also repair bridges and other buildings when told to do so.

Cyborg Commando
The cyborg commando is a badass. He comes armed with a Laser Sniper rifle. Nothing else. He is very fast and also heals when he stands in a patch of Tiberium. This unit is effective against all of the units on the battlefront. If you happen to get one of these guys into a GDI base, you're gonna be hell on foot (unless it's VERY well defended). One more thing: this unit CANNOT be run over!

GROUND-BASED

Mobile Construction Vehicle
The MCV is the MOST important unit in the game. It can be deployed into a construction yard, which in turn, lets you build structures and units. Keep your eye on this unit, even after when it's deployed, because this is the only thing that lets you build structures. No structure leads to no defense, no units, and at last NO victory! Get it? Perhaps the coolest feature in Tiberian Sun that should have been implemented in RA and TD was the ability to deploy back into a MCV. This will allow the player to expand their base without the high-costs of building another MCV. Expect a price tag of around $2500.

The NOD Buggy
The NOD buggy has made a return from TD. It has the same weapon (chain gun), and the same armor (just slightly less armor than a Wolverine.). It is used mainly for taking out infantry and scouting unrevealed terrain. Very cheap to build.

Artillery
The artillery is the longest ranged unit in Tiberian Sun. It also has a very powerful weapon. Hence the name "artillery". When it is deployed, it is much more accurate. The drawback to this unit is that it is VERY slow. It must be guarded at all times by other units, because it is lightly armored and does poorly when involved in a close-ranged battle. Expect a price tag of around $500

Subterranean Flame Tank (a.k.a. "The Devil's Tongue")
This thing will burrow to where GDI least expects it and will incinerate everything not heavily armored. Good for softening up base defenses from the inside out.

Subterranean APC
NOD finally has an APC... this unit will transport your units underground, so you can pop-up at the enemy's base without notice... Very sneaky, but it can't pass the GDI's Mobile Sonar Vehicle (MSV)

Tick Tank
This looks like your average light-armored tank... until it burrows into the ground and doubles its armor, making it a mobile turret. It is perfect for guarding Tiberium fields and choke points. As you've guessed, it can be re-deployed back into a tank.

Advanced Attack cycle
This unit is the fastest ground based unit NOD possesses. It is great for scouting, hit and run tactics, and the best feature about it is that it can fire at both aerial and ground based units. The drawback is that it dies very quickly when put up against infantry or other heavy ground based units. Expect a price tag of around $500.

Stealth Tank
Four words describe the Stealth Tank in Tiberian Sun: Bigger, Better, Faster, More. The Stealth Tank is Faster, more powerful, destroys GDI units better, and it looks better too. Also, beware the MSV, for it's the only unit that can detect the Stealth Tank. Expect a price tag around $900.

Harvester
The harvester is one of the most important units in Tiberian Sun. This is the unit which gathers a highly toxic mineral called Tiberium and brings it back to the refinery in order to transform it into spendable credits (money). The harvester is smarter than ever in Tiberian Sun. It automatically avoids enemy bases and units so it won't get hurt. Although it is heavily armored and smarter, keep the harvester under VERY CLOSE supervision. It's still very important.

Tiberium Eater
This NOD unit is not a harvester although it sounds like it, so don't get confused. It is used for almost the same purpose as the Tiberium Clearer, only when it 'eats' the tiberium, it goes and dumps it into a storage tank, and once you get enough tiberium, then you can launch a tiberium missile, which is loaded with the tiberium which was collected.

AERIAL

Apache
Yes, the apache is back from the original C&C, and as one can guess, it's upgraded a little too.

Banshee
One day, a NOD soldier stumbled upon the wreckage of an alien fighter ship. Kane was then brought to the ship and asked what to do with it, and he decided to document all plans and designs. It then took several years to totally complete the design of this ship which is known as the Banshee. It is classified as a plane and carries two cannons which fire plasma beams (VERY POWERFUL). It also carries a big price tag...
